Exploring Religious Tolerance in Nigeria – CAFOD Young Adult Event

September 23, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

CAFOD’s next young adult event is taking place on Thursday 23 September at 6PM, where they will be joined by students from Nigeria to share in learning, encounter, and solidarity.

Over the course of the evening, we will hear from one of CAFOD’s projects in Nigeria, Zaman Tare, where they have work in partnership with two sister agencies known as CCFN (Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria) and CADEV (Caritas Development Niger).

Together they are working to promote intercultural and interreligious tolerance in target areas of Nigeria and Niger, using an innovative multi-stakeholder approach working with young people, local leadership, communities, government, media, and universities.

We will have the opportunity to learn from masters students in Nigeria, who will briefly present on their chosen subject area before we have time for questions, answers and encounter together. As Pope Francis calls us to social friendship across borders, in his latest encyclical, Fratelli Tutti:

The process of building fraternity, be it local or universal, can only be undertaken by spirits that are free and open to authentic encounters.’ #50

This event is for 18- to 35-year-olds who are interested in campaigning, international development, advocacy, and education.

Please register via Eventbrite today!
